Summer Bead Camp–Make a Bracelet and Recycled Blooms

Bead Camp is for kids 8 years old and up. This morning session includes two projects. The first project is making a bracelet using Czech pressed glass on flexible wire. No needle, easy to finish, and strong. The second project uses soda, tea, and other aluminum beverage containers to make flowers.
For those wanting more than one session of Bead Camp, the cost goes down to $49/session. This discount cannot be offered on line. Please call to get this discount. Each session of Bead Camp needs a minimum of 4 participants.
Learn the fundamentals of tubular even count peyote stitch by making a beaded napkin ring. Then make a whole set for entertaining and gifting. You will use Toho 11/0 round seed beads and Miyuki magatamas in this project. No experience necessary.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.

Description:
Use your cubed right angle weave skills to make a curved and embellished pendant. Make a match to use as earrings. This workshop uses three sizes of Toho seed beads and Fireline or Nymo.
Make a peyote strip, zip it together, and learn to make a rounded end. Then use this peyote bead and Swarvoski crystals to embellish a lampwork headpin to make a beautiful pair of earrings.
