Prerequisites: Ability to make a wrapped loop. See Make 3 Pairs of Earrings on Jan. 16 or call for a private tutorial.
Using stone, chain, and wire, students will create beautiful hanging points. Students will utilize a sampling of important fundamental skills–stringing, crimping, wrapped loops, and wire bails–and learn to use them together to make a swinging pendulum. It can be used for metaphysical practices, play, or simply as a pretty sun catcher. A discussion on how to use them will follow.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg (March 15,1933- Sept. 18,2020) was nominated by President Clinton in 1993 to become a Justice of the United States of America’s Supreme Court. This project is in honor of RBG’s commitment to gender equity by creating a mini version of her iconic collars. Participants will form a metal armature around which the beaded collar will be created using brick stitch, netting, and picots. Then add a scales of justice charm to complete the project.
Learn beaded kumihimo or expand your finishing skills beyond glue-in endcaps. Learn how to finish your Kongoh Gumi (round braid) bracelet with cones, a wire wrapped loop, and a lobster clasp. Tools needed to bring or purchase include a kumihimo disk and 8 weighted tamas or thread lockers. If you already have these tools, please call the store to register at $72.
