Pearl Knotting through Kirkwood Community College–only 1 seat left!

Everyone needs a classic string of pearls. In this class, you will learn the secrets of making pearl knotting easy. Each person will leave with a bracelet made with freshwater pearls and a sterling silver clasp.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.

Learn how to use flexwire and crimp beads by making an eyeglass holder. Design your piece with Toho seed beads and Czech pressed glass pieces. You’ll be able to make bracelets and necklaces with your new skill.

This class places a focus on professional stringing and design techniques. You will make two bracelets using Czech Republic glass beads and sterling silver. Two different stringing strategies will be taught: nylon finished with bead tips and flexible wire finished with crimp beads. Both bracelets will be secure and beautiful.

Prerequisites: Ability to make a wrapped loop. See Make 3 Pairs of Earrings on Jan. 16 or call for a private tutorial.
Using stone, chain, and wire, students will create beautiful hanging points. Students will utilize a sampling of important fundamental skills–stringing, crimping, wrapped loops, and wire bails–and learn to use them together to make a swinging pendulum. It can be used for metaphysical practices, play, or simply as a pretty sun catcher. A discussion on how to use them will follow.
