Use your peyote skills to learn diagonal peyote with Delica seed beads. Embellish your leaf with Toho round seed beads. These leaves are wonderful as a pendant, earrings, or a branch full of them cascading down a lariat. Modifications to make them thinner, wider, and longer will be discussed.

Your peyote skills will get a workout with this star made of six peyote sections. In the first session, learn how to make the wing star with six “wings”. If you don’t get them all made, you will have homework! In the second session on Sun. Nov. 2, also from noon to 4pm, assemble your components into a winged star ornament.
Next Steps in Lampworking: Shaping Beads

Cubed Right Angle Weave (CRAW) is a fun and fascinating stitch. It is hard to learn from video or written instructions. In this class you will learn CRAW with larger beads to create a pendant. Move on to embellishing the piece by “stitchin’ in the ditch”.
Note: This class serves as the prerequisite for many subsequent CRAW classes.

Make a wire woven bail around a rectangle piece of mixed goldstone using a combination of square and half round wire. Secure it in place with horizontal wires. Then make a fancy “crown” bail so you can hang this wire woven pendant from a chain or cord.

This is a first step to learn how to make geometric dimensional beadwork using peyote stitch. These lovely, raised triangle earrings use peyote and a bit of herringbone to make points and turn corners. Make your hanging loop on the point or in the middle of a straightaway–students’ choice.

Wire Wrapping Stones

Using Teneriffe Embroidery, the lacy embellishment used in pine needle basketry,
students learn to make either a Tree or Angel as the center for this 3” ornament. Once this is completed students will attach pine needles and learn basic pine needle coiling, including wheat and fern stitches.
Baroque Cabochon Bracelet through Kirkwood
