Seed Bead Weaving 101–this class is full–call to get on a waiting list.
Date and Time: 01/12/2019 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM
Capacity: 6
Instructor: Karen Kubby
Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Participants in this full day workshop will learn about the materials and techniques used in off loom seed bead weaving. 3 fundamental stitches will be explored: peyote, herringbone, and netting. This class will be a supportive emersion into this slightly addictive art form.
Cubed Right Angle Weave (CRAW) is a fun and fascinating stitch. It is hard to learn from video or written instructions. In this class you will learn CRAW with larger beads to create a pendant. Move on to embellishing the piece by “stitchin’ in the ditch”.
Note: This class serves as the prerequisite for the CRAW Fan Earrings class on July 16.
Instructor: Cheryl Weatherford and Kaami William-Hinton
Prerequisites: none
Description:
Bead Camp is for kids 8 years old and up. This morning session includes two projects. The first project is making a bracelet using Czech pressed glass on flexible wire. No needle, easy to finish, and strong. The second project uses soda, tea, and other aluminum beverage containers to make flowers.
For those wanting more than one session of Bead Camp, the cost goes down to $49/session. This discount cannot be offered on line. Please call to get this discount. Each session of Bead Camp needs a minimum of 4 participants.
Learn to use jewelry making tools and wire wrapping techniques to make earrings that dangle and sparkle. Use Swarovski crystals in birth stone colors to make lovely holiday gifts. After class, take these techniques and explore your own designs.
