Peyote stitch is a basic and incredibly versatile seed bead weaving technique. Beading magazines have many projects that utilize peyote stitch. This workshop will share flat and tubular peyote, even count, using Toho seed beads. Learn when to use each stitch and walk away with samples of each.
This class is a prerequisite for many Beadology Iowa classes, including Fancy Barbell Beaded Toggle on Jan. 18 & Peyote Slide on Twisted Herringbone on Feb. 21.
Get in the groove of doing flat right angle weave by making a wide cuff bracelet.This is a stitch that takes some repetition in order to get your rhythm.We’ll throw in a bit of color grading to boot.Add a clasp and you are ready to wear your new RAW bracelet.

Make a peyote strip, zip it together, and learn to make a rounded end. Then use this peyote bead and Swarvoski crystals to embellish a lampwork headpin to make a beautiful pair of earrings.
Learn or hone your tubular herringbone skills to create this slightly undulating bracelet. Varied sizes of Toho beads and colors will be stitched to accentuate the ins and outs of the pattern. Your beading will go faster than you think, as you will be stitching 2 beads at a time.

www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.
