Date and Time: 03/23/2021 from 5:30PM - 8:30PM
Capacity: 4
Instructor: Karen Kubby
Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Use a two-needle beading technique and 2-hole Super Duo beads to create a beaded leaf. Pull tight for more dimension to your leaf. Add an ear wire and you are ready to go. This is a challenging, yet delightful and very doable project. You will love the results. No experience needed.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.
Participants in this full day workshop will learn about the materials and techniques used in off loom seed bead weaving. 2 fundamental stitches will be explored: peyote and, herringbone. Both stitches can be done flat or tubular. This class will be a supportive emersion into this slightly addictive art form.
Learn or hone your tubular herringbone skills to create this slightly undulating bracelet. Varied sizes of Toho beads and colors will be stitched to accentuate the ins and outs of the pattern. Your beading will go faster than you think, as you will be stitching 2 beads at a time. No experience needed.

Learn to cover a barrette with ultra suede and add Toho beads and embellishments to make your own hair piece. The result is something lovely that looks finished on all sides. Make many on your own to match your jewelry wardrobe.
