Participants will use brick stitch round a metal base of their making to create these exquisite earrings. The flatness of the Delica beads helps create contrast to the round beads that make the ruffles.

Brick stitch is a fun stitch for making shapes and patterns. Make a triangle, then learn tips and tricks for adding fringe that flows well yet is not too loose. No experience necessary.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.Instructor: Karen Kubby.

Use your brick stitch skills to make a varied diamond shape. Learn to read a pattern and increase and decrease in brick stitch. Stitch in a soldered ring and make a dangle at the bottom. A fun project that results in either a symmetrical or asymmetrical pair of earrings.

Brick stitch is an off-loom seed bead weaving stitch that can be made into endless patterns. In this class, use Delica beads in brick stitch to create an owl motif. Then glue it onto a bookmark. A perfect combination for beading in the City of Literature. These owls make awesome earrings, too.
