Are you ready to take our headpins to the next level? Or maybe you haven’t tried them and you need a few tips to get started. This in-depth full day workshop will have you making beautiful, well-matched intricate headpin elements perfect for earrings or focal pendants. You will start with simple designs and end with more advanced styles. Participants will learn heat control, how glass moves, and how to make two identically sized headpins sequentially, all while learning over half a dozen designs.

Using two sizes of Toho round beads and Cubed Right Angle weave to make a curved piece. Connect it into a circle. Embellish the circle on the bottom with more CRAW units and the sides with stitchin’ in the ditch. This is a fun way to use your CRAW skills.

Brick stitch is an off-loom seed bead weaving stitch that can be made into endless patterns. In this class, use Delica beads in brick stitch to create an owl motif. Then glue it onto a bookmark. A perfect combination for beading in the City of Literature. These owls make awesome earrings, too.

Students will learn or review spiral herringbone and make a lariat. A slide to connect two sides of the lariat will be made with Delicas with peyote stitch. The slide has to be just the right tension around the lariat—not too loose or it will slip, and not too tight or it won’t slide.

Prerequisites: Flat even count peyote stitch skills
Put your flat even count peyote stitch skills to the test. Use a background of Delicas and 3 sizes of Toho round seed beads to create a repeating pattern that undulates beautifully. The focus of this class will be about following a pattern and pulling tight to synch down when decreasing. Participants will likely not finish this project and the beaded toggle is not part of the class, although the kit will have enough beads in it to make one.
