This ring is a great intermediate wire weaving project. Use different shapes, sizes, and colors of wires to weave a substantial wire ring. Learn to size a ring to fit just right. You’ll want to make one of these rings for everyone you know.

This intermediate lampworking class has you blowing glass bubbles using a hollow mandrel. Break up your bubble and use that glass to embellish a bead. There will be lots of experimentation, using glass, silver foil, enamel powers, and frit.

In this next steps lampworking class, learn to work “off mandrel”. Use your mandrel as a punty to create a glass capped mushroom with a spike end. You can add your mushroom to a potted plant or your yard. Get ambitious and add a bail to create a pendant.

Using Teneriffe Embroidery, the lacy embellishment used in pine needle basketry,
students learn to make either a Tree or Angel as the center for this 3” ornament. Once this is completed students will attach pine needles and learn basic pine needle coiling, including wheat and fern stitches.

This tray begins with a center of Teneriffe embroidery in artificial sinew, the lacy embellishment used in pine needle basketry. Then using the swirling wheat, wheat, and fern stitches, attach pine needles and explore coiling and shaping. You will have a lovely little tray to use for a special ring or pair of earrings.

Join new guest instructor Harper Folsom. Learn a Ukrainian egg dyeing technique, called Pysanka. This technique uses multiple colors of dye, done in layers with wax resist, to create detailed designs. Up to three eggs per person will be made.
The eggs need to be varnished and emptied after the dyeing process is complete. This will be done by the instructor. Participants can pick up their work starting on Sat. Oct. 25.

Use peyote stitch to create two sides of a watermelon slice—seeds and all. Then learn to create your own flat pad and post, including the security notch at the end. Sew your watermelon slices together around your flat pad and add an ear nut. Ready for a picnic!
