New Class! Pysanka: Ukranian-style Egg Dyeing

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Join new guest instructor Harper Folsom. Learn a Ukrainian egg dyeing technique, called Pysanka. This technique uses multiple colors of dye, done in layers with wax resist, to create detailed designs. Up to three eggs per person will be made.
The eggs need to be varnished and emptied after the dyeing process is complete. This will be done by the instructor. Participants can pick up their work starting on Sat. Oct. 25.

Soldering Sampler

Prerequisites: No experience necessary.
This workshop involves the fundamentals of soldering. Learn and hone a variety of soldering skills—connecting an open jump ring, adding a ring to another piece, and more. Practice both sweat and spot soldering. Leave with a variety of samples and a new set of skills.
This class serves as a prerequisite for many metalworking classes.

Baroque Cabochon Bracelet through Kirkwood

Using 2-hole cabochon beads and SuperDuos, learn to create an oval component. The components include Toho round seed beads and Czech fire polish beads. Sew components together to form a beautiful bracelet.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:

Russian Leaf Pendant

Use your peyote skills to learn diagonal peyote with Delica seed beads. Embellish your leaf with Toho round seed beads. These leaves are wonderful as a pendant, earrings, or a branch full of them cascading down a lariat. Modifications to make them thinner, wider, and longer will be discussed.

Using basic wire working tools—round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, nylon jaw pliers, and wire cutter–sculpt a fantastic scorpion sculpture using copper wire. This is Scorpio time in the astrological calendar and which deserves to be celebrated!

New Class! Winged Star Ornament–2 session class

Prerequisites: Basic peyote stitch skills. Call 319 338-1566 to schedule a private tutorial.
Your peyote skills will get a workout with this star made of six peyote sections. In the first session, learn how to make the wing star with six “wings”. If you don’t get them all made, you will have homework! In the second session on Sun. Nov. 2, also from noon to 4pm, assemble your components into a winged star ornament.

Class Cancellation Policy
Class fees are due at time of registration. Cancellations must be made at least 5 days in advance of class in order to receive store credit. There are no cash refunds for cancellations issued by the student.
If Beadology Iowa cancels a class, the student can choose to transfer registration to another class, receive store credit, or receive a cash refund.
With a completed class, participants will receive a single-use card good for double rewards points on an entire purchase within 10 days of the class.
Textured Two-drop Peyote Bracelet

Two-drop peyote stitch is an off-loom weaving technique that moves very fast, as you place two beads at a time. This bracelet is embellished as it is woven. The embellishment creates texture and pops up a bit as it hugs the curve of your wrist. Add a special bead for a clasp.
