Winged Earrings

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Use a combination of peyote stitch and herringbone with Delica 11/0 beads to create a small wing. Sew this wing together and embellish it with a larger focal bead. Add an ear wire and you are ready for the weekend.

Friday Night Out: Reversible Beaded Bead

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Learn to use a CzechMates 2-hole crescent bead. Weave Czech pressed glass and Toho 11/0 seed beads to create a two-sided domed beaded bead. You will make two separate pieces and then sew them together. Each side can be a different color, making your bead reversible. No experience needed.

Prerequisites: Basic CRAW beading skills.
Use your CRAW skills to create arches with 3 sizes of Toho seed beads. Learn an innovative skill of making the next arch off the previous one. Connect your three arches and bead a bail. This trillium makes a lovely pendant. They are lightweight enough to wear as earrings.

Tubular Herringbone Bracelet through Kirkwood Community College

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Learn or hone your tubular herringbone skills to create this slightly undulating bracelet. Varied sizes of Toho beads and colors will be stitched to accentuate the ins and outs of the pattern. Your beading will go faster than you think, as you will be stitching 2 beads at a time. No experience needed.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:

Make this 3-D crab pendant using cubed right angle weave (CRAW), brick stitch, and ladder stitch. This is the seventh of a yearlong series, making jewelry projects that correspond to the current Zodiac sign. Cancer is the sign for those with birthdays June 21 through July 22. Tune in each month for the next Zodiac project. Collect them all.

Next Steps in Hollow Glass: Implosion Pendant

Sawing & Soldering

Prerequisites: Basic sweat soldering skills.
In this metal working class, learn some precision sawing techniques to create negative space. Take the shape just sawed out and solder it on the pendant to create texture. Your pendant will be one-of-a-kind. A great project for honing your sawing and soldering skills.
Class Cancellation Policy
Class fees are due at time of registration. Cancellations must be made at least 5 days in advance of class in order to receive store credit. There are no cash refunds for cancellations issued by the student.
If Beadology Iowa cancels a class, the student can choose to transfer registration to another class, receive store credit, or receive a cash refund.
With a completed class, participants will receive a single-use card good for double rewards points on an entire purchase within 10 days of the class.
Netted Helix Necklace

Prerequisites: Any seed bead weaving experience.
Learn to use Toho seed beads and Toho bugle beads to make this elegant helix necklace. Based on knowledge of other beading stitches, participants will choose how to finish the necklace by stringing beads, using Ndebele (herringbone), or cubed right angle weave (CRAW).
