It is so exciting that this style of earrings is popular again. This stitch has many names: Cheyenne, Brick, Cheyenne-Brick, and Comanche-Brick. It looks like a section of brick wall. It’s a favorite for earrings, as it’s practically made for fringe and is fairly fast.
This kit contains all materials and instructions so you can start and complete this project, including 2 colors of round seed beads, bugle beads, Swarovski crystals, and ear wires.
Use Toho seed beads in brick stitch with a rubber ring to make a fun pair of light weight earrings. In this project, the high contrast thread and the ring are part of the design.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at: www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants. Instructor: Karen Kubby.
Learn or hone your bead embroidery skills to make a pair of post earrings. Use a small crystal montee in the center and embroider rings around it. Your earrings will be beautifully finished on front and back.
This owl is made using brick stitch, which is an off-loom seed bead weaving stitch that can be made into endless patterns. You will use Delica beads in brick stitch to create an owl motif. Then glue it onto a bookmark. A perfect combination for beading in the City of Literature. These owls make awesome earrings, too.
Please note this kit does not include the metal file, glue, or toothpick listed in the materials list.
