Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Learn how to manipulate borosilicate glass tubing. Participants will learn to stretch, blow, and embellish tube glass.
Must be at least 15 years old to participate.
Note: This class serves as a prerequisite for the ornament class yet to be scheduled.

Fundamentals of Borosilicate Glass

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Learn how to manipulate solid borosilicate glass. Participants will make a variety of shapes that create glass skills of pushing, pulling, adding color, and making a bail. Shapes worked on in class include a pawn, basic marble, icicle pendant, and a mushroom pendant.
This class serves as the prerequisite for other Boro classes.
Swirl and Vortex Boro Marbles–this class is full, please call to get on a waiting list.

Prerequisites: Any boro glass experience.
Use clear solid boro glass rods to create marbles. The first will be a swirl marble, to perfect the technique used in the intro class. Then move on to a vortex design. Participants will make multiple marbles.

For those with basic hollow glass skills, this class hones your skills with blowing boro hollow tube glass with decorative elements. The result is a blown glass ornament with a bail for hanging. Get ready to get in the studio to make friends and family holiday ornaments!
