Turn your peyote stitch into cellini stitch by utilizing varied size beads in your stitching. Create a few rounds of peyote, then switch the direction of your spiral to create a bold and elegant middle. Then finish up your other end to create a slide into which you can add a beaded lariat, chain, or other cord of your choosing.

Known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Johnson was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969. Learn to follow a 2-drop peyote pattern and see this activist come to life. This mug rug looks like a little woven rug—and it is! It is made using peyote stitch, glass seed beads, and pressed glass feather beads from the Czech Republic.
Peyote stitch is easy to learn and the end result is a lovely piece of artwork on which to set a mug full of hot or cold beverage.
The kits contains all materials and instructions so you can start and complete this project. The picture shows a miniature completed mug rug. This kit is child-friendly!
