Friday Night Out: Herringbone & Swarovski Earrings

Create a herringbone graduated tube using 3 sizes of Toho round seed beads. Add Swarovski crystals and the herringbone tube on a headpin and make a wrapped loop. Optional dutch treat snacks and drinks at a downtown venue of the group’s choice.

Use or get herringbone stitch skills to make a lovely pair of tassel earring. You’ll stitch a beaded bead and stack large beads to stabilize your beaded bead on a headpin. Make a wrapped loop and add an ear wire and you are ready to wear!


Beaded Necklace with Slide and Bell Filled Pendant

The lariat on this piece by Karen Kubby utilizes spiral herringbone to get the twist. The slide is using peyote stitch and you can move it to be in your favorite position. The bottom part of the pendant has 2 bells inside. This piece is 24″ and is very light weight.

Winged Earrings through Kirkwood

Use a combination of peyote stitch and herringbone with Delica 11/0 beads to create a small wing. Sew this wing together and embellish it with a larger focal bead. Add an ear wire and you are ready for the weekend.

Herringbone Cuff Bracelet

Learn herringbone, or Ndeble stitch, a fundamental stitch used in many contemporary bead books and magazine projects. Participants will use Toho seed beads and bugle beads to learn to increase to make their piece wider in the middle and how to decrease to bring the end of their cuff down to the original width near the clasp. The end result is a fun and fast beaded cuff bracelet.

Learn and hone your herringbone skills in this project that utilizes various sizes of Toho round see beads to make curves. Surround a glass bead with seed bead weaving and make these lovely clover earrings.
