Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Learn how to manipulate solid borosilicate glass. Participants will make a variety of shapes that create glass skills of pushing, pulling, adding color, and making a bail. Shapes worked on in class include a pawn, basic marble, icicle pendant, and a mushroom pendant.
This class serves as the prerequisite for other Boro classes.

Use solid boro glass rods to create marbles. This is a “next steps” class that will give participants a deeper understanding of the techniques needed to be successful in marble making. Instructor: Benjamin Revis, UI Scientific Glass Blower.
Take both Intro to Boro and Marble Making for double rewards points.

Prerequisites: Any boro glass experience.
Use clear solid boro glass rods to create marbles. The first will be a swirl marble, to perfect the technique used in the intro class. Then move on to a vortex design. Participants will make multiple marbles.
Please call 319 338-1566 to get on a waiting list. When there are two people on the list, we will schedule another session of this class.
Registration is $120 and includes all materials, instruction, use of tools, and supplies.
