Ruth Bader Ginsburg (March 15,1933- Sept. 18,2020) was nominated by President Clinton in 1993 to become a Justice of the United States of America’s Supreme Court. This project is in honor of RBG’s commitment to gender equity by creating a mini version of her iconic collars. Participants will form a metal armature around which the beaded collar will be created using brick stitch, netting, and picots. Then add a scales of justice charm to complete the project.

Brick stitch is a fun stitch for making shapes and patterns. Make a triangle, then learn tips and tricks for adding fringe that flows well yet is not too loose. No experience necessary.

Make 3 Pairs of Earrings: Intro to Wirework

This is a great introduction to wirework. Two skills are learned and practiced—making a closed wrapped loop and making this loop into another closed loop. This set of skills allows you go make secure earrings, pendants, and chains. You will make earrings from Czech pressed glass, stone, fresh water pearls, and Swarovski crystals.
Note: This class serves as a pre-requisite for many Beadology Iowa classes, including Pearl Dangle Earrings on July 7 & Cascade Earrings on July 22.
Trillium CRAW Earrings

Make these three-sided beaded earrings with Toho round beads using cubed right-angle weave. Get lots of practice changing direction and joining ends of CRAW together. Then embellish the outside edge for an extra degree of lovely.

Use peyote stitch and a pattern to make these seasonal earrings. You will use Delica 11/0 seed beads and a 2.5mm Swarovski crystal bead for the pattern. Make these longer for a great bookmark. Participants will learn how to decrease in peyote stitch.
