2-Hole Bead Components through Kirkwood Community College

Prerequisites: No experience needed.
Create a “sun” and a “gear” that can be used for earrings or a necklace slide using two types of 2-hole, 2mm fire polish pressed glass, and Toho seed beads. Discuss ways to use these two components, embellish them further and how to connect them to create finished jewelry pieces.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of two participants.
$30 instructor fee/$28 materials fee.
2-Strand Memory Wire Bracelet

Use memory wire to make a 2-stranded cuff bracelet. Use a 2-hole bead or spacer bar to connect your two strands. Learn to use memory wire tools to make loops on the ends of your cuff. This is a great way for people who normally don’t wear bangles to get a bracelet style without a clasp that fits properly.

Get a jump on the winter holiday season and learn how to bead an ornament cover with two-hole SuperDuo and Toho seed beads. Your beading will cover a clear glass ornament. If you can thread a needle you will be able to complete this ornament.

Create diamond shaped earrings out of CzechMate crescents, Superduos, Delicas, 2 sizes of Toho seed beads, and a Swarovski pearl. This pattern is by Estelita Mayac Chiles and uses circular netting. This session helps people follow the pattern published in the Dec 2018/Jan 2019 Beadwork magazine. Participants must have a copy of the magazine or pay $7.99 to download a copy of the instructions to register.

During the COVID-19 recovery period, classes are limited to 6 people on a first come first served basis via paying the registration fee. Masks must be worn during class and participants will be spaced at least 6 feet from each other. Tools will not be shared and will be cleaned after use. Use two-holed pyramid and super duos along with round seed beads to construct an elegant cocktail ring. This ring is built to suit, so if you are making this for someone else, be sure to bring their ring size. Many beaded rings are made with elastic–this ring is not.
