This pattern was developed when many want to flip the House of Representatives to Democratic Control in 2018. We want you to learn to use brick stitch, Toho seed beads, and a rubber ring to make a pair of earrings that use two high contrast colors that are “flipped” on each half of the earring.

This kit helps you learn to bead around an armature. In this case, the armature is a 12mm rubber ring. Once the whip stitched beads are around the rubber ring, you will do brick stitch for the other row of beading. End this earring with a CRAW bail or a simple ring. This mug rug looks like a little woven rug—and it is! It is made using peyote stitch, glass seed beads, and pressed glass feather beads from the Czech Republic.
Peyote stitch is easy to learn and the end result is a lovely piece of artwork on which to set a mug full of hot or cold beverage.
