Peyote Stitch Techniques

Description:
Peyote stitch is a basic and incredibly versatile seed bead weaving technique. Beading magazines have many projects that utilize peyote stitch. This workshop will share even count flat and tubular peyote techniques.  This is a skill building class without a specific project.  Learn when to use each stitch and walk away with samples of each.

Making a matching clasp for a beaded piece of jewelry allows you to make a completely coordinated piece of artwork. Learn new and innovative ways to use peyote stitch to make both the ring and bar of a beaded toggle.   

 Prerequisite:  Peyote stitch taught in the Peyote Stitch Techniques class earlier on April 4. Take both classes for double rewards points.

Soldered Pendant through Kirkwood Community College Continuing Education Program

Learn both sweat soldering and spot soldering.  Using wire disks and sterling wire, create a one-of-a-kind pendant.  You will be using a butane and/or propane torch in this class.


 
There is a $45 registration fee through Kirkwood and a $25 materials fee at the beginning of class.

Peyote Bracelet in Color Gradient

Description:
Use flat peyote stitch to make this lovely bracelet.  In this class you will learn how to do beaded color grading in a simple, yet efficient manner.  Then you will learn to finish the edges of this bracelet with a picot technique.  Finally, learn to add a clasp with a loop closure.  That's three skills in one project!!

Learn how to use flexwire and crimp beads by making an eyeglass holder. Design your piece with seed beads and Czech pressed glass pieces. You'll be able to make bracelets and necklaces with your new skill.

Learn to stamp and dap copper disks into earrings of your design.  Keep your copper bright or oxidize it for a different look.  Then add beads to the center and/or the bottom.  This is an active and loud class.  Ear wires provided are copper, sterling is an additional cost.
